This is where the description of the Time Management blog category goes.

A question I'm asked a lot is "How many hours should I work?"

The third area to evaluate about yourself is time management. In other words ask yourself; How am I spending my time?

I hear people all the time talk about how many hours they work each week, here is my thought on the subject.

If I told you to stop using the register in your checkbook and just remember how you spend your money you'd tell be I'm off my rocker. At least I hope you would. How we spend our money is so important to us that we write down the check number, who we wrote the check to and the amount at the time we write the check. I've been told that time is the new money. If that's true then why don't we account for the time we spend. For years I just wrote in my calendar how I wanted to spend my time but what I wanted to do and what I did was not the same. Somewhere I developed the habit of writing down how I spent my time and evaluating my day before I went to bed and called it a day. I found that when I identified the mis-using of "my time" and made a better plan for tomorrow, I got more done. Don't just write how you want to spend your time start tracking how you spend it. Make the best choices and watch your effeciency improve.

All jobs go smoother when you use the right tools. You can hammer with your shoe but a hammer just works better. Having the right tools is not just a practical rule for carpenters and mechanics it's also a key to being a good leader and manager. Here are 5 tools everyone who is serious about management (especially time management) should use and master. 1. Buy yourself a calendar. The more you have to manage the more powerful calendar you need. (thank God for my iphone!) 2. Buy yourself a watch. (It's hard to be on time if you don't know what time it is.) 3. Use a timer (I'm also thankful for Radio Shack) Know how much time you have to spend and learn to stop. Remember if you don't leave you can't come back! 4. Own a computer and have access to the internet. (There's not a day that goes by that I don't google. 5. Have a cell phone (Be accessible, learn to do more than one thing at a time. A cell phone is a tool to help keep you in the know.) The best way to master these tools is to use them. Using the right tools is a must to be effective. Which of these do you need to master?

What would you do today if you could do anything you wanted to? You can you know. A truth that set me free years ago is when I realized that "my time" really did belong to me. Since "my time" was really "my time" I needed to take ownership of it and spend it like I was in control. It's up to you to let others know how to treat your time. If you don't value and respect it others won't either. Why not start today acting like "your time" really does belong to you. Make a plan, watch out for time stealers, because "your time" really does belong to you. Take charge of it!

That's right, you heard me I was born just like you, naked! If my mom had not been there it would have been terrible. The truth is there are some things in life that do come easier to some of us than other things but I believe organization is a lifestyle choice and a learned behavior. I've always loved the guitar.

08. Stay Focused. Don’t get side tracked. There is a big difference between a God idea and a good idea. Not everything that’s a good idea is God’s will for you to do. God doesn’t give me a green light on every opportunity that presents itself. You must learn to live by your priorities. Make a list of God’s priorities for you and live by them.
